About the Collection

Compiled by Al-Sharif al-Radi

Nahj al-Balagha, meaning "The Peak of Eloquence," is widely regarded as one of the most important collections of Islamic teachings after the Quran and the hadith of Prophet Muhammad. Compiled by Al-Sharif al-Radi in the 10th century CE (970-1015 CE), it contains the sermons, letters, and sayings of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (d. 661 CE).

Al-Sharif al-Radi was a renowned scholar, poet, and literary figure in Baghdad who carefully collected and organized these texts into the definitive compilation that has been studied and revered for over a millennium.

The collection addresses a wide range of topics including:

  • Theology and Faith: Deep reflections on the nature of God, creation, and the purpose of life
  • Ethics and Morality: Guidance on personal conduct, virtue, and spiritual development
  • Governance and Leadership: Principles of just rule, administration, and social responsibility
  • Wisdom and Philosophy: Insights into human nature, society, and the path to knowledge

Whether you're seeking spiritual guidance, studying Islamic philosophy, or exploring literary excellence, Nahj al-Balagha offers profound insights that remain relevant across cultures and centuries.
